The Serra da Babilônia 1 onshore wind complex (223 MW) and the Serra da Babilônia Solar complex (140 MW) in the state of Bahia are operated by Equinor’s subsidiary, Rio Energy, and are fully owned by Equinor.

Equinor is also a partner in the Apodi solar complex (162 MW) in the Ceará state and the Mendubim complex of solar plants (531 MW) in the Rio Grande do Norte state. The assets are operated by Scatec, with Equinor holding respective shares of 43.5% and 30%.

The board of directors has decided to initiate a fourth and final tranche of the share buy-back programme for 2025 of up to USD 1.266 billion. The tranche will commence on 30 October and end no later than 2 February 2026. This fourth tranche will complete the announced share buy-back programme of up to USD 5 billion for 2025. It will also conclude total capital distribution for 2025 of around USD 9 billion.

Less than three months after coming on stream the Johan Castberg field was producing at peak capacity of 220,000 barrels of per day. Every three or four days, cargoes depart from Johan Castberg. Each cargo may be worth around NOK half a billion, depending on the oil price. Norwegian suppliers account for 95 percent of the deliveries to the field in the operational phase.
