     <p>A one-year charter extension worth some USD 35 million has been awarded to Transocean Offshore by Statoil.</p> 
     <p>This deal covers the <em>Transocean Prospect</em> rig, which is primarily drilling production wells on Norne. It will continue to work on this Statoil field in the Norwegian Sea under the extended charter.</p> 
     <p>US-owned Transocean currently has seven semi-submersible drilling units on the Norwegian continental shelf, with five of these working for Statoil.</p>
