Construction of Statoil's Åsgard B gas platform is on schedule, with the exception of module fabrication in Italy.
The Italian part of this project has fallen about a month behind the timetable.
Considerable activity is currently under way at Kværner Oil & Gas in Stavanger, where the work of lifting modules onto the support frame began on 2 June.
These units are due to be hooked up by April. In the intervening period, the yard expects to perform some 1.8 million working hours.
The following milstones have been drawn up:
* lifting modules onto the support frame from 2 June
* delivery of the hull to Stavanger on 1 September
* mating of topsides and hull on 18 October
* tow-out to the field on 11 April
* ready to start contractual gas exports on 1 October 2000.
Åsgard B is a semi-submersible platform with a steel hull which will produce condensate as well as gas from the Norwegian Sea field.
Kværner Oil & Gas is the main contractor, with the hull being constructed by Daewoo Heavy Industries in South Korea.
