New name for NorFra

September 15, 1999, 10:00 CEST

The NorFra gas trunkline from Statoil's Draupner E platform in the North Sea to Dunkerque on the French coast will be renamed Franpipe on 1 October

This follows complaints from the Norfra fisheries company in Tromsø, northern Norway, which claims its business has suffered because the pipeline has the same name.

Operated by Statoil, the 840-kilometre line carries about 15 million cubic metres of gas per day and began working on 1 October last year.
