Faster and cheaper drilling operations and deepwater field development are in focus at the 11th annual Deep Offshore Technology conference.
Taking place in Stavanger on 19-21 October, this meting embraces an exhibition section as well as papers on new advances in deepwater technology.
Roughly a third of the programme concentrates on technological requirements and various forms of well operation.
This year's conference is chaired by Rolf Magne Larsen, senior vice president for International Exploration & Production, and several of Statoil's specialists will be participating as speakers and panel members.
The group's own stand in the exhibition section will primarily be staffed by personnel from its technology team.
It features a model of multipurpose shuttle tanker Navion Munin, which is serving as the production ship on the group's Lufeng field in the South Chine Sea.
Film taken by remotely-operated vehicle of coral banks in parts of the Norwegian Sea where Statoil is pursuing production operations will be shown continuously on the stand.
And the interactive Tech in Depth section of Statoil's web site, which was launched on 18 October, is to be shown.
This presentation uses animation, illustrations, video clips and text to explain technology used for new oil and gas developments.
