Best for UK customer care

The utility industry achievement award for customer care has been won by Alliance Gas, the gas marketing company of Statoil UK.

At the awards ceremony on 13 December, the judges highlighted the way customer care pervades the whole company philosophy.

Alliance Gas also won praise for its literature, improvement programmes, after-sales service and benchmarking.

"This award is a significant achievement for Alliance Gas and a recognition of our on-going commitment to the highest standards in serving our customers," said managing director Sue Simms when collecting the prize.

Presented in 12 categories, the annual utility industry achievement awards cover the British electricity, telecommunications and water sectors as wells as gas suppliers.

This event caps a successful year for Alliance Gas, which also topped the gas industry's customer satisfaction survey published by Datamonitor in September.
