The Åsgard C storage ship arrived in Stavanger on 2 May after a voyage of roughly 60 hours from the construction yard at Bilbao in Spain.
Built at the Sestao facility, this 264-metre vessel is owned by Norway's Knutsen OAS Shipping company and has been chartered by Statoil.
It will store condensate on the group's Åsgard development in the Norwegian Sea. Statoil takes over formal responsibility on 4 May.
The vessel will undergo tests in the Åmøy Fjord outside Stavanger before sailing to the field in late May, reports project manager Ola Bjelland.
Once on station, the C ship will be tied to the Åsgard B platform to store up to 868,000 barrels of condensate separated from produced gas.
