Turnaround on Åsgard B

December 1, 2000, 14:00 CET

A maintenance shutdown on Statoil's Åsgard B gas platform has been brought forward by one day to 1 December.

This turnaround is intended to carry out improvements on the floater after the initial running-in period, reports Ola Krumsvik, operations vice president for Åsgard.

At the same time, a critical review of the process facilities will be conducted following the two gas leaks registered this week.

Mr Krumsvik expects production to resume towards the end of next week. In the meantime, gas deliveries due from Åsgard are being covered by supplies from Oseberg and Troll in the North Sea.
