     <p>The US business magazine <em>Fortune</em> has ranked Statoil as the 49th largest company in Europe, measured by turnover.</p> 
     <p> <a href="http://www.fortune.com/fortune/" target="_blank"> <em>Fortune</em> </a> publishes an annual list of the 500 largest companies in the world, and the 50 largest in Europe.</p> 
     <p>No other Nordic companies than Statoil figure among the top 50 on this year's European list. Last year there were no Nordic companies at all on that list.</p> 
     <p>Statoil is ranked as number 122 among the 500 largest companies in the world.</p> 
     <p>In 2002, the group had a turnover of NOK 244 billion.</p>
