The NCS strike is over

June 25, 2004, 14:00 CEST

On Friday, the Norwegian government put into effect compulsory arbitration to end the industrial dispute on the Norwegian continental shelf (NCS) between the Norwegian Oil Industry Association (OLF) and the Federation of Oil Workers' Unions and the supervisors' union Lederne.

No Hydro-operated fields have been closed down during the strike, which has last for a week.

For Hydro, the strike has resulted in postponed production of around 50,000 barrels of oil equivalents per day from partner-operated fields.

It normally takes one to two days before closed-down installations are in full production again.
