Hydro is introducing a new model of survival suits, and in this connection has donated 100 approved, unused suits to the Norwegian Society for Sea Rescue.
"This is a big day us," said Bjørn Amundsen, regional leader of the Norwegian Society for Sea Rescue (Redningsselskapet), when he received the donation on Friday.
"Our operation depends on private donations, and these survival suits will be of great value. They will form part of the safety equipment on board our rescue vessels, and we will also use them for training purposes."
"We hope these survival suits will be of benefit, even though we are no longer able to use them. One of Hydro's values is cooperation, and we are pleased to be able to boost safety on board rescue vessels," says Gunnar Breivik, head of HSE in Hydro Oil & Energy.
The platform organizations in Hydro have introduced a new model featuring a loose glove, as this design is most expedient for the use it is intended for – in free-fall lifeboats.
