Fatality in Iran

A thirty-four year old man was killed on 3 September after being hit by a forklift truck at a yard where pipes are being coated for the South Pars field off Iran. Statoil is operator for phases six, seven and eight of the South Pars gas development project.

The man was immediately taken to hospital, where he died of his injuries.

He was employed by the Sadaf coating yard outside Bushehr. Sadaf has been engaged by the South Pars project.

The accident is being investigated by the police.

Statoil has deployed an internal commission of inquiry to Sadaf to find the cause of the accident.
