The Statoil-operated Veslefrikk field in the North Sea is now producing normally after being shut down since 23 July due to reduced lifeboat capacity.
The field came back on stream yesterday, 8 August, and output is currently about 35,000 barrels of oil per day.
Production was halted because an internal crack was discovered on one of the conventional lifeboats on the Veslefrikk A platform. The lifeboat has been repaired, but the number of personnel on Veslefrikk is still reduced because the skid boats are out of operation.
The Huldra field, which is remotely operated from Veslefrikk, can start producing again as soon as the Heimdal platform is ready to receive the gas. That is expected to happen later today, 9 August.
Huldra produces roughly 6 million standard cubic metres of gas per day. The gas is piped to Heimdal, which is operated by Hydro, for processing.
