Hydro invites the people of Oslo to a free concert, party and photography exhibition at Frogner Park, on 27 August, in honor of the company's 100th birthday. The program is now set.
Among the highlights are the “Lord of the Rings” symphony, performed by the Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra with Norwegian singer Sissel Kyrkjebø as soloist, and an evening concert by the globally renowned pop group, a-ha.
Kyrkjebø received thundering applause and outstanding reviews for her efforts when the symphonic piece was presented at the Acropolis in Athens earlier in August.
a-ha will present new music from their coming album during their show.
Hydro is also hosting a photography exhibition featuring a number of internationally known photographers, including Anton Corbijn, Shimon Attie, Dag Alveng and Guri Dahl.
Sissel concert in Bergen too
Hydro’s centennial will also be celebrated at Festplassen in Bergen, Norway, on 3 September, with Kyrkjebø again performing as soloist with the “Lord of the Rings” symphony.
