Hydro has qualified for the world-wide category of the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI World) for the seventh year in a row.
Hydro also qualified this year for the DJSI STOXX (covering Europe) for the third time and was almost at the top in the Basic Resources sector. Hydro answered as an aluminium company for the third year.
“Our improvement on the rating was substantial this year with a score of 81 percent, up from 74 percent last year,” says Kirsten Margrethe Hovi, responsible for Hydro’s sustainability reporting.
“It seems like the good work we’ve done on several fields in Hydro in recent years is paying off. We will now prepare an analysis of DJSI's rating for 2005 as a basis for our further improvement work,” she says.
Hydro also recently qualified for the Financial Times' FTSE 4 Good index for the sixth year in a row.
