New career site launched

December 21, 2005, 09:25 CET

People interested in working for Statoil can now log onto the group’s updated web site for careers and recruitment, which has been launched today, 21 December.

Aimed at everyone looking for a job, a traineeship or an apprenticeship with Statoil, this site provides an overview of vacancies, the group’s selection criteria and what it can offer.

The career site receives an average of 1,800 unique hits every day, with 53 per cent from Norway and the rest from such countries as the USA, the Netherlands, the UK and Germany.

School-leavers and graduates are an important source of recruitment for Statoil.

The group was voted the most popular place to work by Norwegian engineering and economics students for the fourth year in a row in 2005.

Students can use the web site to check opportunities for summer jobs with Statoil, and to see when the group will be visiting their college or university.

Visitors will also find advice on how to proceed if they want to write a thesis based on the group’s operations.

Statoil also has a big in-house job market, which offers many career opportunities.

According to the latest working environment and organisation survey (Amou), employees take a more positive view of their career prospects than before.

Women are more optimistic about these opportunities than men, and younger employees are the most positive.
