Oseberg South production shut down

September 5, 2006, 06:30 CEST

Production on Oseberg South oil platform was shut down and personnel gathered for evacuation when smoke developed in a transformer room at 3 a.m. Tuesday.

The alarm was triggered by the overheating of a transformator connected to the gas injection compressor. The incident was quickly brought under control, and all procedures were followed and functioned as they should.

Production will resume when the relevant equipment in the transformer room has been checked and found in order.
