Agreements with the SAS group and Air France-KLM for air travel by employees have been extended by Statoil, which has also signed new contracts with Norwegian Air Shuttle.

All these deals run for one year from 1 February 2007 to 31 January 2008.

“They’ve been awarded after an overall assessment of price, service and quality,” says Trygve Takle Pedersen, head of travel services in the global business services function.

“The deals with Norwegian will provide greater flexibility on certain routes, particularly in the event of delays or cancellations.”

Statoil currently has agreements for domestic flights in Norway with SAS Braathens and internationally with the same airline (part of the Star Alliance) and Air France-KLM.

These deals are worth more than NOK 500 million per year with the SAS group, and roughly NOK 45 million annually with Air France-KLM.

The parallel agreements now concluded with Norwegian Air Shuttle cover domestic flights and selected foreign routes, primarily Oslo to Stockholm and Copenhagen.
