McCann picked as ad agency for StatoilHydro

McCann has been selected as advertising partner for StatoilHydro to contribute to the launch and development of a marketing communication for the merged energy company.

McCann was awarded the contract after a process that included evaluation of seven Norwegian and international agencies.

McCann is a well-merited, Norwegian-based full-service ad agency and part of the international McCann Worldgroup network.

In addition to developing and executing a profiling campaign that will mark the launch of StatoilHydro in the coming fall, the scope of work includes long-term strategic brand management. The work also includes day-to-day development and execution of national and international creative concepts.

The combined company’s retail business is not covered by this agreement and Statoil’s current cooperation with selected agency partners within this area will continue as today.
The preparatory work with the launch campaign for StatoilHydro will start immediately and be implemented when the planned merger between Hydro’s oil and gas activities and Statoil has been completed.
