How to get started

Whether you’re a large contractor or a small local supplier, there’s a role to play in the Bay du Nord project in Newfoundland and Labrador.

We recommend getting ahead by preparing your prequalification documents such as HSE performance records, technical capability details, financial information and offshore experience.

There are three touchpoints in our procurement process:

  1. Expression of Interest (EOI) are posted on EnergyNL's website. These will be from Equinor and our contractor partners: BW Offshore for FPSO and Subsea Integration Alliance for subsea. We encourage those interested to visit.
  2. Prequalification questionnaire for qualified bidders covering:
    1. Safety & HSE performance
    2. Technical capability
    3. Financial strength
    4. Experience delivering similar work in Newfoundland & Labrador
  3. Invitation for prequalified vendors to responds to Requests for Proposals (RFPs).
    Bids are evaluated against a defined evaluation plan which will typically take into account ability to deliver the work, total cost, HSE, and local content. Successful contractors will be announced publicly.

Beyond major contracts, Bay du Nord will also need many subcontracts and supplies from small-scale items to significant work packages. A full list of contractors will be shared as the project moves forward.
