Equinor is currently experiencing that both individuals and organisations are targeting our company and you, our prospective employees, by attempting to commit recruitment fraud.

Important facts about our procedures
Please note that neither Equinor nor any of the organisations that recruit on our behalf will ever ask for any payments from applicants at any point in the recruitment process. All individuals who are offered employment with Equinor, are always required to go through a formal recruitment process.

Equinor only accepts resumés uploaded on our recruitment portal at www.equinor.com, not via email.

Also, please note that if you were to receive any emails from us, the address would always end with @equinor.com. If this is not the case, please treat the contact as fraudulent and forward the details to us via the email address below.

LinkedIn is an important global professional network and hence a prioritised channel for future recruitment. We strongly recommend that you only connect with people that you know and trust.

Warning signs that may indicate fraud
There are a number of things you need to watch out for. Fraudulent recruitment activities often includes the following:

  • Requiring money from applicants (e.g. for ‘visa fees’, taxes, a percentage of travel expenses)
  • Unrealistic compensation-and benefits packages
  • Requesting personal information such as passport and bank account details at an early stage of the process
  • Sending emails from free web-based email accounts such as Yahoo, Gmail, Hotmail or Live.com
  • Hiding the caller ID during phone conversations
  • Insisting on urgency
  • Issuing offers of employment in international locations on non-local conditions
  • Using poorly formatted documentation

If you suspect a recruitment scam – what should you do?
We recommend that you do not respond to unsolicited business propositions and/or offers from people with whom you are unfamiliar. If you receive such proposals, we advise you to contact your local police authorities and provide them with all information you may have from the senders (email addresses, phone/fax details, etc.).

If you ever have doubts regarding the legitimacy of an email, letter or web site - or any other information relating to Equinor, please send your concern or question through our contact form.

When contacting us, please remember follow this procedure to ensure relevant information is shared with us and to avoid that important information is lost:

  • Provide and outline all relevant information regarding your question or concerns in the comment field.
  • Supporting documentation may be required, please remember to tick the box for supporting documentation and we will request documentation accordingly.
  • Preserve supporting documentation, i.e. e-mail messages, documents, screenshots of conversations and information about origin. Please do not change original text or edit content in any way. Save the original documentation/messages for 30 days to assist further investigation should it be required.
  • If applicable, please inform us where you registered your resume or application originally. Also, for your own safety, address the issue directly with the company where your resume is registered, as they may need to take action as well.

If you suspect a fraudulent job is posted on LinkedIn, please report it to LinkedIn’s enterprise service team directly at lcshelp@linkedin.com.

Thank you for taking the time to inform us, we highly appreciate it.
