     <p>A preliminary agreement on establishing 10 service stations in north-western Russia has been concluded by Statoil.</p> 
     <p>Covering the province of Murmansk, this letter of intent was signed last week when Murmansk governor Jurij Jevdokimov visited Statoil's Gullfaks B platform in the Norwegian North Sea.</p> 
     <p>"We're looking at opportunities for opening up to 10 forecourts in the province and for delivering heating oil in this part of Russia," says Henrik Bruun, general manager of Statoil Murmansk.</p> 
     <p>The group is currently building its second service station in the port, which is due to open during 1998.</p>
