New stations in Murmansk

September 23, 1998, 09:00 CEST

A preliminary agreement on establishing 10 service stations in north-western Russia has been concluded by Statoil.

Covering the province of Murmansk, this letter of intent was signed last week when Murmansk governor Jurij Jevdokimov visited Statoil's Gullfaks B platform in the Norwegian North Sea.

"We're looking at opportunities for opening up to 10 forecourts in the province and for delivering heating oil in this part of Russia," says Henrik Bruun, general manager of Statoil Murmansk.

The group is currently building its second service station in the port, which is due to open during 1998.
