New investor relations head

October 20, 2005, 10:00 CEST

Lars Troen Sørensen (44) has been appointed as the new senior vice president for investor relations (IR) at Statoil, with effect from 15 December.

He comes from the post of finance and administration manager at the group’s Moscow office, where he has been posted since June 2004.

Mr Sørensen worked as an adviser from 2001 to 2004 in the IR function, which was established in connection with Statoil’s stock market listing in 2001.

“Our job in IR is to ensure that communication with the market is accurate, uniform and timely, so that the market can put the right price on our share at all times,” he says.

He is familiar with the job from before, and is looking forward to getting to grips with the assignment.

Mr Troen Sørensen worked from 1998 to 2001 in Statoil’s corporate finance function, including periods at the Singapore office and head office in Stavanger.

Employed earlier by A P Møller/Mærsk in Denmark and the UK, and by IBM, he is a graduate of the Copenhagen Business School.

Ragnar Bulie will act as head of IR until 15 December. After that he will continue in his position as IR manager.
