Fisheries Manager

Tel:  +1 (401) 954 2902

Elizabeth Ann Marchetti is from Long Island, New York and has been actively and passionately working with the commercial fishing community for twenty years. Immediately after graduating the University of Rhode Island with a Bachelor of Science in Marine Biology, she began working for the Ocean Technology Foundation as a field scientist for the Lobster Restoration project in response to the North Cape Oil spill in 1996. She stayed with the program through its entirety of five years before landing her five year position as a Point Judith NOAA Port Agent. Elizabeth assisted and supported industry members with their inquiries as well as collected biological samples such as otoliths and vertebrae daily for the Northeast Fisheries Science Center. From there she began working as a field scientist within NOAA’s Cooperative Research Branch, working with fishermen daily for technical support with electronic vessel trip reporting as well as conducting at sea biosampling.

In 2015, Ms. Marchetti was selected for the Block Island Wind Farm Fisheries Liaison, working with the fishing industry, Deep Water Wind, National Grid and the R.I. Coastal Resources Management Council. She has also served as the Offshore Fisheries Liaison Officer upon the R/V Ocean Researcher for the 2018 Empire Wind Survey.

She is currently a member on the NEFMC Habitat Advisory Panel.
