Hydrogen
Hydrogen and carbon capture and storage have the potential to play a critical role in decarbonization, including in hard-to-abate sectors such as cement and steel.
CCS
Bayou Bend is a joint venture owned by Chevron, Equinor and TotalEnergies to develop a carbon capture and storage facility in Southeast Texas.
The project is positioned to be the leading transportation and storage solution in one of the largest industrial corridors in the country by sequestering carbon dioxide (CO2) safely and permanently underground.
Lithium
Equinor is partnering with Standard Lithium to develop Direct Lithium Extraction (DLE) projects in Southwest Arkansas and East Texas through a joint venture.
DLE is an emerging production method that can help meet a growing lithium demand with a lower environmental footprint than traditional methods. Equinor is providing subsurface and project execution expertise to the joint venture. Lithium is an essential mineral in the energy transition and key to enhancing US energy security.
